Apaches on the Move.

До поры до времени биография Джима Карсона (Jim Carson), рождённого 8 июля 1942 года в Литтл Рок, Арканзас, мало чем напоминает жизнь художника. 1964-й год – бакалавр наук Мемфисского университета, 1970-й – докторская по молекулярной физике и последующие изыскания в той же области. С осени 1971 по весну 1973 Джим входил в преподавательский состав Принстонского университета – и тогда же брал уроки живописи, через некоторое время решив окончательно сменить поприще в пользу давнего увлечения искусством.

Before Sunset.

После двух лет обучения в колледже и частных уроков у нескольких известных художников, Карсон начал карьеру иллюстратора романов-вестернов, издаваемых в Нью-Йорке. На протяжении следующих нескольких десятков лет Джим совершенствовал свои умения и, начиная с 90-х годов, неоднократно получал награды различных галерей как самый продаваемый и ценимый коллекционерами художник. Ныне является владельцем собственной художественной студии и вместе с женой Маргарет (а также двумя их детьми) проживает сразу на два дома, проводя тёплое время года в Северной Каролине, а на более холодные месяцы перебираясь в Аризону.
